Best advice i can give .
Always keep an eye on the bill and your valuables locked up in some secret place when or if you take them home.
remember you dont always need to physically take away a credit card to use them, they could just write down your numbers and security code and use them online to order all sorts of stuff.
best stick to pick up bars, not perfect but less risky than the above options.

shanghai has alot of fun bars....if it's a girl you want, just go to manhatten when you're ready....make eye contact with whichever one you want and she will be over to you quickly....talk, have a few driks with her, set the price and away you go......the girls bars are ok but in the end you are probably going to spend 5 times what you'll spend at manhatten and probably get less......if you want a great band,, good food and available girls, go to malones.......anyway you do it though, if you come to this town and don't have a wild time, you must not have tried very hard......and mike, no you won't have any issues with police at these places.....just be smart and don't get so drunk you quit thinking straight.......

Get yourself in a taxi, go to Manhattan Bar (you will find the address and details on this site) and pick up whatever you like....believe me you have from where to choose. I have had a very bad experience in shanghai on the Nanging Road East , a smart looking girl approached and called herself Masa and wanted me to take to a Bar , there I was asked to order for a drink and then they got drinks for the Lady , we could not finish one can of bear ,meanwhile the lady finished 3 large pegs of whisky and ate a lot of fruits and other snacks.

The best piece of advice in a girls bar. bring cash and pay after each round of drinks. You'll never get a surprise bill at the end of the night and you'll know how much money you have left just in case you strike up a deal with one of the girls.
