for western visitors and young, rich professional chinese, this location is one of the hottest place in shanghai. located at the bund, they have a big terrace with a great view to pudong. you should try to arrive there before 10 pm, because later the lights on some buildings (like the pearl tower) will be switched of.

the minimum fee for a table is very high, on weekend could be rmb 5000 for a table on the terrace and beween rmb 1000 to 3000 for a table inside. but there is no minimum fee for a drink at the bar.

you should know, it is not the right place for find a girl friend, even a lot of the sexy and elegant girls come alone or with girl friend, will ask you to stay longer time with them ;-) ... but not for free...

Went to Rouge last night (SAT) around 11pm. RMB100 cover, RMB900 drinks, crowded (2/3 guys, 1/3 girls), simple/clean decor but nothing special, good DJ tunes, a few people dancing. Mostly expat guys
(and girls!) but good mix of locals well. Many local girls are freelance hookers - generally much higher quality than the girls in Manhattan, with some being very fine. You can easily find them since
they will lock eyes with you and give you a more serious "professional" look rather than a sweet smile. But they will make you talk to them and buy them drinks for longer than in HK or SG before they
