Hi,
I tried Hai Lang today for my very first Shanghai sauna experience and it shure was a good one. I didn't get to sit down and drink tea or watch TV in the beginning, because being a first-timer I may have been a bit overcautious. When they led me in the room I thought they were going to give me a foot massage which I declined. So they led me to the fishbowl right away and probably had me figured for a stupid westerner who is always in a rush... ;-)
I chose #905, a slim and beautyful girl with nice little and all natural breats. The shower and Nuru massage was all I expected it to be, and although the girl was at times a bit mechanical, especially with the red rope stunt, she was very sexy and very skilled.
BTW, I had not rouble at all finding the place thanks to your description!

@James: Not easy to find,because they removed all Sauna signs and advertisement. When you reach the adress, walk inside, than after around 50m right there is a parking area. Here you turn left in a small street, than around 50m later on the right side there is the entry. When you arrive at the entry, they will guide you inside.

Went there last night. Was easy to find by Cab. Cab dropped me off in the square next to the convenience store and the Sauna was at the corner with the pick lights bordering the door,

I've been there at day time. The reception is a bit cold, then it gets better once inside. You're guided from the beginning to the end. It's clean and pro.
Oh, and be kind with the girls. Make them smile and feel "Shi fu", comfortable. Everyone will be more relaxed and the overall experience should be much better :)

Anyway, I finally went there today and found the place thanks to Shanghai Nightlife Guide.

Here is my feedback which may help a newcomer.

There is no sign easily noticeable indicating the place. Actually, there is one on the outer wall 20m from the entrance door. Anyway, in this small street, there is only one glass door, this is it.

Once there, a guy says something in chinese that I dont really understand, but I acknowledge. He brings to a very clean locker room, that looks like a sport center locker room. He asks me whether I want to take a shower. I nod and he brings me to the shower. Another guy then ask me "you are going fuck girl?". I start to weaken a bit. I think he could have avoided this one, but still, I was here for that, wasn't I. He then asks me to follow another guy. This other guy shows me a stair that you have to climb on your own. Then, you meet a kind of reception that ask you to go on and to take a lift.
Once up, you are brought to the fish bowl. 20 girls. You pick a girl and she takes you one more floor up in a room.

I found the experience good but not fantastic. I doubt it will become an habit, but who knows?

The girl was nice, even though she could barely speak any english, but my small chinese enable to have a kind of conversation. I could not avoid thinking where I were and what I was doing. The beginner worry I guess. She was wailing a bit too much to look true, which probably put me a bit on the edge. This said, I had all what I came for and it could have been much worth.

After one hour, I had enough and thank her and say goodbye.

I was then brought all the way back to the final counter where I was asked to pay 800 RMB.

This is it.

This place is similar to 999. Large rooms with their own private showers. Went at night. 800 beans. Fishbowl had a ton of girls. Picked 805. She was okay. Some girls seem high maintenance(putting tissues on her knees to protect). Not really sexy lol.
You get the bubble massage and other little things before getting to business.
This place much like 999 is a place I would take an out of town friend. Fish bowl is less intimidating, private showers, seems more upscale.
I don't know if I can recommend these places. Especially for bang for the buck. Bubble massage sort of lose there novelty. You just want some skills at what really matters. My impression of these places are like routine service.
This place is more western friendly than 999.

I visited there on Sunday night and was told there was only foot massage. I said Ni How as I walked in (as I speak a little Chinese). I'm not sure if they thought I was suspect or possibly what the deal was. I said ok - thinking that if I went into the inside that they'd offer some other services. I tried to ask a few times but it seemed all on offer was the foot massage. Not sure if it was because it was Sunday night (it was around 7pm). Can someone tell me when the best time to go is and if there is anything you are supposed to say as you enter to get the full service? cheers. @virtualpoet: there are about 1800 sauna places in SH alone offering the oldest trade in the world, not counting all the other private/agency/street etc. The practice is illegal in China but like all things in China its handled the Chinese way: its ignored as long as it stays away from trouble and pay its undeclared tax direct to the police in pink chairman Mao.

The girls are there for the money: they earn in one day what they would only earn in 1-3 months working in factories making iPhones that sell for 60x its production cost. Dont blame the chinese gov or factory owner, they are only trying to provide work for its people and make tiny marginal profit because company like Apple would only pay them that much in order to make large profit and please their shareholders so people like you will have big fat retirement investment portfolio and feel guilt free to stand up on a soapbox to preach.

Most girls doing this are from rural farming/peasant family where they are the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd daughter before their parents finally have a son. Those girls are not registered at birth and/or their family paid a large fine for having them. They cannot go to school, get job that require paperwork, or have public healthcare/services unless pay for a I.D card from the police. For them this is a fast lane to pull themselves ahead and help their own future. You may not respect the profession and/or us punters, but have full respect for the girls that sacrifice to have a better future.

They are all in SH however they go by different names and it seems the operation manager at no.1277 is not aware of the other six or he may not have permission/comfortable to reveal this to a first time punter.

Anyway they all charge same 780RMB for same service except the newest joint 800RMB.

Will be checking out a few other places before the week is up. Will send review.
